British Canoeing and Jaffa launch competition to win a school visit from a slalom paddler

British Canoeing and Jaffa have launched a competition for school pupils to design a racing bib to be worn by MacGregor the Mascot at the 2020 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships.

The prize for the pupil selected is a visit to their school from a Great Britain slalom paddler, Zippy the Juicer courtesy of Jaffa, and MacGregor – the mascot for the European Championships.

The winning designer will also receive family tickets to the 2020 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships and a copy of the bib, signed by the four British slalom paddlers competing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

To be in with a chance of winning entrants must download the template and create their own unique design. The winning entrant will see their design turned into an actual racing bib by Peak UK.

Closing date for the competition is 1 March.

Rachel Hancox, Commercial Manager for AMT Fresh said:

“As principal partners of the 2020 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships, we are delighted to be supporting this competition.

“We encourage all those eligible to enter and get creative to be in with the chance of winning their very own bespoke bib, a school visit from a canoe slalom athlete, MacGregor and Zippy the orange juicing machine.

“We are very much looking forward to the event in May, and kicking off celebrations for ‘100 days to go’ in style with the launch of this competition.”

The 2020 ECA Canoe Slalom European Championships presented by Jaffa takes place on 15 -17 May at Lee Valley White Water Centre, the Olympic legacy venue created for the London 2020 Games.

It will be a great opportunity to see the Great Britain slalom team compete on home soil at the European Championships, ahead of the 2020 Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Kimberley Woods, who has qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and will be competing at the European Championships said:

“The home support we received last year at the 2019 World Cup was fantastic, and we hope lots of sport fans and the local community come and support us on our journey to Tokyo.

“I think the competition is a great way for school pupils to engage with the European Championships and I look forward to seeing the winning design on MacGregor!”
