Slalom team in the new 2018 kit

New slalom kit unveiled for 2018 international season

British Canoeing’s senior canoe slalom team kit has been unveiled for the upcoming international racing season, at a launch event with official partner Peak UK.
Making a move away from the traditional white apparel, athletes competing at this season’s World Cups, European Championships in Prague and World Championships in Rio, will be decked out in navy with the union flag in pride of place.
The kit was presented to the Great Britain canoe slalom team at a special kitting out event at Lee Valley White Water Centre.
Pete Astles, director at Peak UK, said:

“It is an honour to continue our strong relationship with British Canoeing. I’ve been supplying equipment to GB’s best athletes for the last 25 years, from the likes of Paul Ratcliffe and Helen Reeves and now Mallory Franklin and Joe Clarke.
“At Peak UK we’re all excited to see what this team can produce in the big races this season. I’d like to especially congratulate Beth Forrow on her selection into the team for C1W category, I first saw her paddle in 2016, it was clear then that a space on the senior team was waiting for her.”

Reigning senior C1 world champion, Mallory Franklin, said:

“The new kit looks really cool, I’m lucky that I get two lots for C1 and for K1 which is great.
“Not many nations compete in the RacerST so we’re really lucky and it gives us the edge for competitions. I’m looking forward to getting out there and racing.”

British Canoeing’s canoe slalom head coach, Mark Ratcliffe, said:

“The kit looks great and the darker blue is a really strong colour. It is fantastic to have Peak UK on board as a partner.
“The squad feel good in the kit, it performs well and it’s great to have the support of a British company.”
